Whittaker also reprised the role for a video message during the COVID-19 pandemic, filming the short herself during lockdowns placed to curb the spread of the virus. Whittaker has made many appearances outside of the main show as the Thirteenth Doctor, such as in the annual telethons, BBC's Children In Need and Comic Relief.
